The Problem
Turn delivers real-time insights that transform the way leading advertising agencies and marketers make decisions. Their cloud applications provide a complete picture of customers, execute cross-channel campaigns. Turn is the largest independent company in the advertising technology sector and the recognized leader in platform-based mobile, video, display, TV, and social advertising.
When contacted by Turn they were facing new competition in the market and a high rate of attrition from current customers. Their platform lacked consistent hierarchy in information and customers complained that the visual interface was rudimentary and did not reflect complex media campaigns effectively. Turn has since been acquired by Amobee advertising solutions.
The Goal
The goal was to overhaul the entire user interface of the Turn media platform which would include first time use case scenarios, reporting dashboards, visual design and an extensive list of new features.
The Process
We went through a process of research and discovery to better understand the customer’s needs and the newly emerging competitive landscape. With the engineering team, we reviewed the current feature sets and created new user process flows. After this, we went onsite with customers to asses how they were using the product and how we could best improve it for their current needs. We began wireframe ideation and application of a new visual design followed by usability testing and iterations on the design.
Turn Contextual Inquiry – We conducted on site contextual inquiries to gather data from customers within their work environment.
Turn Usability Findings Report – The usability test was structured to address prioritized areas and functionality of the new Turbo Setup application.
